horses are a type of heavy horse. Their hooves are bigger and
have alot more hair hanging down over the hoof, than a pony or
small horse.
Reaching
a height of 18hh, mahes the shire horse one of the biggest horses
around.
On
average Shire horses weigh about 1 tonne.
Shires
mainly come in the following colours: bay, brown, grey and black.
Shire horses are mainly used
for either showing or heavy draft work involving machinary.
One of the greatest horses
ao medieval times; the Old English Black Horse is considered
to be an ancestor of the shire horse!
